How to fit Glenburn into a trip to India, Bhutan or Nepal

Most visitors to India tend to patronize the more touristy and popular destinations, especially on a first trip. Glenburn remains a remote and still a fairly "secret" destination, that even on a first trip to India, will allow you to immerse yourself in its rich culture, varied landscapes and local gastronomy. The experience takes you away from any form of mass tourism, and offers you a real and genuine Indian experience, where the maximum number of other "tourists" you will meet is 14 other special guests. With 1600 acres of our estate to explore, the privacy and authenticity of this experience can beat no other.

Below are four ways in which you can plan a trip to Glenburn:

  • In conjunction with a regular itinerary to the North East of India combining Kolkata, Assam and Sikkim with Glenburn. Try to put it at the end as this always works best in terms of expectations, and most other accommodation in the region is more basic than Glenburn is.
  • As an add-on to the end of a hectic trip around other parts of India. Glenburn is a great destination to "end" a trip to India, as a place to relax and unwind, with lots of gentle walking and good (safe) food, before you fly back home from Kolkata, Delhi or Mumbai.
  • At the end of a trip to Bhutan or Nepal. We can collect you from the border at Phuntsholing (for Bhutan) and Bhadrapur (for Nepal) and drive you to Glenburn, before sending you back home via Kolkata, Delhi or Mumbai. The driving time is only 4 hours from Nepal and 6 hours from Bhutan. This will avoid you having to fly back into India to come out to Glenburn. The Bhutan government requires you to fly one way to Bhutan, so if you fly in from India, you can exit to Glenburn and then catch your international flight back home from India. A flight between Paro and Bagdogra has also been started recently which will make the connection even easier.
  • Another wonderful way to enjoy Glenburn is to take over the entire bungalow for a whole family or group of friends for a celebration or a festival (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving). Guests have total privacy and we can tailor make all the arrangements to create a very special celebration for you. This could even include organizing an Indian Wedding, although with our 8 suites, can only accommodate 14 of your guests!
